YANKEES 0
ANGELS 1

Friday night at the Stadium, the Yankees dropped their second straight to the Los Angeles Angels, 1-0. Sidney Ponson pitched 7 scoreless innings, and the game was tied at 0-0 in the 9th innings, when Mariano Rivera gave up the games only run.

Sidney Ponson pitched a gem, as he hurled seven scoreless innings. Ponson gave up no runs, two hits with four walks and a strike out. Psonson gave up alot of deep fly balls, but he kept the ball in the park, and the Yankee defense came through for him. Demaso Marte came in for the 8th inning, and overpowered the Angels, 1-2-3.
Mariano Rivera entered in the 9th inning, and walked Mark Textiera. Vladimir Guerrero poked a single to right field, moving the go-ahead run to third base, and then Torii Hunter singled him home for the go-ahead run.

Offensively, there is nothing to talk about, as the Yankees were shut out and held to 5 hits. Derek Jeter went 2-4.

The Yankees will try to avoid losing their 3rd straight to the Angels on Saturday afternoon on Old Timers day.
