YANKEES 4
RED SOX 3

Wednesday night at the Stadium, the Yankees took their second straight from the Red Sox, 4-3. Roger Clemens had a strong performance, holding the Sox hitless through the first 5 innings. Joe Torre made the game interesting,by trying to throw the game by bringing his boyfriend Kyle Farnsworth into the game, which as usual, gave up a 2 run homer to cut the lead to 4-3. Mariano Rivera cane in to save the game.

Roger Clemens pitched 6 innings, surrendering only 1 run on 2 hits. Clemens struck out only 2, and walked a season high 5 batters, but still got the job done. With a 4-1 lead in the 8th inning, Joe Torre tried to throw the game by bringing Kyle Farnsworth in. As usual, Farnsworth gave up a 2 run homerun, cutting the lead to 4-3. (As you have seen in about 15 blogs this year...I predicted that the Torre/Farnsworth love affair would cost them in big spots). Thankfully, Mariano River cane into save the game for the Yankees.

Offensively, the Yankees struck early. In the second inning, After Jorge Posada singled and Robinson Cano walked, Melky Cabrera came through with a run-scoring single to center, one of his three hits. Johnny Damon, followed with a grounded single through the left side that brought home two runs, giving the Yanks a 3-0 lead. Alex Rodriguez would hit a homerun in the seventh inning, to up the Yankee lead to 4-1, it was Arod's 44th HR of the season.

The Yankees will go for the much needed weep of the Bsoton Red Sox on Thursday afternoon, in which they will send out Chien-Ming Wang agaisnt Curt Schilling. Most likely, Torre will try to avoid the sweep by benching starters like Posada, by using the "day game excuse".

GAME NOTES:
CLEMENS: 6IP, 1R, 2H 2SO
AROD: 2-4, HR, RBI
DAMON: 1-5, 2RBI
POSADA: 2-3
