Wednesday afternoon at the Stadium, the Yankees won their 6th straight game, and completed a series sweep of the Minnesota Twins, with a 5-1 victory. Mike Mussina pitched another gem, as he went 8 scoreless innings in the victory, and struck out 7.

Mike Mussina (13-6) allowed six hits — in only one inning did the Twins manage two hits — while walking none. Mussina leads the Majors with only 16 walks in 121 1/3 innings. Mussina pitched 8 scoreless innings and struck out 7 batters.

In what was a scoreless game in the 5th inning, the Yankees got on the board when Justin Christian, brought home Robinson Cano and Molina with a double to left that put New York ahead, 2-0. In the sixth, the Yankees tagged on two runs on a double by Alex Rodriguez, who drove in Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu.

The Yanks win streak continues to 6-0 after the All-Star break, leading into a weekend series with the Boston Red Sox.
