Sunday Afternoon, the Yankees completed a 3 game sweep of the Cleveland Indians with a 5-3 win. Andy Pettitte pitched well, and Jason Giambi homered for the second straight game.

Andy Pettitte tossed 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball in winning for the fifth time in seven starts. Pettitte gave up seven hits while striking out four.
The Indians finally got to Pettitte for a run in the seventh and added another off Luis Vizcaino in the eighth. Mariano Rivera, escaped a bases-loaded jam and then allowed a run in the ninth for his 19th save.


Giambi, making his second start since returning from the disabled list, went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer that keyed an 11-hit attack. This was the second day in a row that Giambi homered. Melky Cabrera also added a solo homerun, and Derek Jeter added an RBI single in the 9th, to cushion the lead.

The Yankees will now start a series with the Baltimore Orioles at Yankee Stadium. Chien-Ming Wang will face Jeremy Guthrie in the opener on Monday night.
