YANKEES 4
D’BACKS 1

Tuesday Night at the Stadium, the Yankees continued their strong play, with a 4-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The victory was the Yankees 7th straight, and have the Bombers finally back at the .500 mark.
In a big pitching matchup between Chien-Ming Wang (Cy Wang) against the NL Cy Young Brandon Webb, Wang got the better of the two.

Chien-Ming Wang (6-4) pitched seven innings for the win, giving up six hits and one run while striking out two and walking none. Wang looked strong and once again gave the Yankees a much needed 7 innings. Mariano Rivera came in and got the save in a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

Offensively, Bobby Abreu extended his season-best hitting streak to 11 games with a three-run homer in the first inning. That was all the Yanks would need, but after Matsui walk and a Robinson Cano double, Melky Cabrera hit into a fielders choice, scoring the 4th run.

The Yankees will go for their 8th straight win Wednesday night, when Mike Mussina faces Livian Hernandez.

GAME NOTES:
WANG: 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 SO
ABREU: 1-3, 3 RBI
MATSUI: 1-2
