The Yankees instructed Robinson Cano to pull out of action with his Dominican Winter Baseball League club, the Orientales Estrellas, general manager Brian Cashman confirmed on Friday.
Cano was expected to play in only six winter league games to test an injury late in the season, Cashman said, but he was told to leave the club after Cano continued to play. He batted .389 in nine regular-season games for the Orientales.
All we need is another injury to a key player ….. so hopefully Robbie Cano sits out the Winter League, gets some good rest, and is ready to have another good season in pinstripes.
