YANKEES 9
ORIOLES 10

Well… thanks to Joe Torre, the Yanks will not be repeating as the AL East Champions again. Since Torre took the cowardly way out of the season, by intentionally losing the final games, so they can avoid Anahiem, they let the Red Sox win the division. The AL Division Series are now set, with the Angels to play at the Red Sox and the Yankees at Indians.

Mie Mussina blew a big lead for the Yankees tonight. In the 5th inning, with a 7-2 lead, Mussina surrendered four consecutive run-scoring hits — singles to Miguel Tejada and Mora, doubles to Aubrey Huff and Ramon Hernandez — before finally escaping the inning on an outfield assist, as Hernandez was thrown out trying to advance to third base.
Then with a 9-6 lead, and 2 outs in the ninth, Rivera blew the game, as the O’s tied it at 9-9. The Orioles pushed across the winning run in the 10th against Edwar Ramirez.

The good news is the Yankees scored. Alex Rodriguez hit his 54th home run of the season. A-Rod’s two-run shot in the fourth inning off Leicester gave him 1,500 RBIs for his career, and Rodriguez also scored twice, reaching the 1,500 runs mark lifetime.

Well..bascailly this wekends games are meaningless!! I guess we will just have to root for the Phillies…because this would cap off a GREAT season if the Mets don’t make the playoffs after all this talk!!
