YANKEES 5
ORIOLES 7

Saturday Night in Baltimore, the Yankees lost their second straight to the Orioles, 7-5. Down 7-1 in the 9th inning, the Yankees cut the lead to 7-5, and had the tieing runs on base, but Johnny Damon grounded into a double play, and then when runners reached again, Bobby Abreu struck out to end the game.

Roger Clemens allowed four runs on eight hits in his fifth loss of the season. The Rocket went 6 1/3 innings, and struck out six, leaving the game in the 7th inning with a 3-1 deficit. Relievers Mike Myers, Luis Vizcaino and Brian Bruney combined to allow three runs on four hits and let the game slip out of reach.

Offensively it was a quiet night for the Yankees, until the ninth inning. Hideki Matsui hit a home run in the 7th inning to put the Yankees on the board, and then Jorge Posada hit a 2-run homer in the 9th to get a rally started. JOhhny Damon killed the rally by grounding into a double play, which was his second of the game, and only his second of the entire season. The Yankees managed to get 2 more guys aboard, and Bobby Abreu stepped up with a chance to at least tie the game, and he struck out with A-Rod on deck.

The Yankees will look to win the final game in Baltimore on Sunday, when Chien-Ming Wang faces Daniel Cabrera.
