Being that the Mets went and traded away 4 no-name prospects for Nohan Santana….the Yankees figured they would go out and sign a 16 year old Australian kid. Im not joking!!

Kyle Perkins, 16, joins the Yanks after being spotted by a Yankees scout during last year’s under-18 national championship in Western Australia.
Perkins will join the club roster as a catcher in 2010 after he has finished school. His first spring training camp with the Yankees in Florida is likely to be in February, 2010.
