YANKEES 1
TWINS 5

Sunday afternoon in Minnesota, the Yankees fell to the Twins, 5-1. Darrell Rasner picked up his second loss of the season, in a game which he got no support from the offense.

Darrell Rasner (3-2), threw 111 pitches in his 5 1/3 innings of work on Sunday. Rasner gave up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5. Although his line did not look impressive, it was not as bad as it seemed either, as their was some shaky defense for the Yanks.

Derek Jeter was the only run for the Yankees, as he hit his 3rd homerun of the season. The Yankees had 8 hits, and had a few chances with the bases loaded, but could not come up with the big hit to score some runs.

A scary moment came in the game when Bobby Abreu lined a ball back to the mound, and it hit pitcher Nick Blackburn in the face. It looked alot worse then the damage caused, as he just had a bruised nose.

The Yankees will finish off the 4 game set in Minnesota on Monday night, when they send Andy Pettitte to the hill.

GAME NOTES:
RASNER: 5.1IP, 8H, 4ER, 5 SO
JETER: 1-2, HR
