YANKEES 2
ORIOLES 3
Tuesday in Baltimore, the Yankees dropped the first game of the series to the Orioles, 3-2. With the game tied 2-2 in the 9th inning, Scott Proctor walked in the winning run. Proctor had already walked the lead off batter of the inning, and walked another batter and showed absolutely NO control. Not only was he wild, but he actually hit Hernandez with the bases loaded, and got lucky enough for the umpire ot miss the call…yet Joe Torre left him in the game instead of bringing in Rivera.
Anfy Pettitte pitched well for the Yankees, which did not score for him (gee what a surprise). Pettitte lasted seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, walked five and struck out two.
The Yankees, held to two hits over the first five innings by right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, tied it in the sixth. Miguel Cairo hit a one-out single and Johnny Damon followed with his fifth homer, a two-run shot to right.
Joe Torre is senile and needs to be fired!!
Yankees will face the Orioles again tomorrow in Baltimore, pitting useless Roger Clemens vs Erick Bedard.
GAME NOTES:
PROCTOR: SUCKS AND SLEEPS WITH TORRE
PETTITTE: 7 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 2 SO
JETER: 2-4
