Following the playing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” public-address announcer Bob Sheppard instructed the crowd to draw its attention to the owner’s box and the video screen. Roger Clemens, was holding a microphone, and announced “It’s a privilege to be back, and I’ll be talking to you all soon.”

Roger Clemens, in an interview after the game, also stated that he’d be ready to pitch “later this month, or early June at latest”. The Yankees signed Clemens to a One Year, $28 Million contract.

Now for my opinion on the situation:
I really did NOT want Roger Clemens, because I never really liked him. I do not like guys who put themselves above the game of baseball, and make rediculous demands (ie: “I will only pitch home games”, “I will only pitch if a team is in contention”, etc…). YES.. I admit it may be a good move, with the recent string of injuries, and the state of the Yankees pitching … however, I just don’t like him, and wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt do well. Remember…. his stats are still good the past few years… (because he was in the National League) , and he had gotten bombed in big games for the Yankees. Only time will tell … but WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??
