Friday night at the Stadium, the Yankees lost a low scoring affair to the Kansas City Royals, 2-1. Darrell Rasner pitched yet another gem, but the offense gave him no support. The Yankee offense has only scores a total of 3 runs in Rasners last 3 starts.

Offensively, the Yankees could only get themselves a run in the 7th inning, on a Melky Cabrera RBI single to right field. The Yankees had an opportunity earleir in the evening, but Alex rodriguez grounded into a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd.
The Yankees will play game 2 of the set on Saturday, when Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Yankees.
