The New York Daily News and The Associated Press reported late Monday that Posada will accept a four-year, $52 million contract from the club. After batting a career-high .338 with 20 home runs and 90 RBIs in 144 games for the Yankees this past season, Posada would have been a coveted figure on the free agent market, but the Yankees did the right thing, and made the move to retain him.
