Andy Pettitte admitted to using HGH to relieve his elbow injury in the 2002 season. Pettitte experimented with HGH twice while rehabilitating elbow tendinitis from April 21 to June 14, 2002, when he was on the disabled list and working out in Tampa, Fla.

“If what I did was an error in judgment on my part, I apologize,” Pettitte said Saturday in a statement released by his agent.”I accept responsibility for those two days.” “I had heard that human growth hormone could promote faster healing for my elbow,” Pettitte said. “I felt an obligation to get back to my team as soon as possible. For this reason, and only this reason, for two days I tried human growth hormone.”

“Though it was not against baseball rules, I was not comfortable with what I was doing, so I stopped,” Pettitte said. “This is it — two days out of my life; two days out of my entire career, when I was injured and on the disabled list.”
“Everything else written or said about me knowingly using illegal drugs is nonsense, wrong and hurtful,” Pettitte said. “I have the utmost respect for baseball and have always tried to live my life in a way that would be honorable. I wasn’t looking for an edge; I was looking to heal.

In wrap up… Andy Pettitte used steroids to heal an injury, only twice, when the drug was not against MLB rules. So…for all the Yankee haters…. SORRY… I guess your whole “cheater” theory goes right out of the window.

Speaking of which…. wasn;t it funny that ESPN claimed that the Yankees won the 2000 World Series with Pettitte on the mound, who was “on steroids”. Since when does taking an injection in 2002…help you back on the mound in 2000?? LOL

Let the WITCHHUNT continue…..

      opening lines of Pettitte’s statement:

First, I would like to say that contrary to media reports, I have never used steroids. I have no idea why the media would say that I have used steroids, but they have done so repeatedly.

      He never used steroids.

HGH is not Steroids and was not banned by baseball when he used it.

it’s like a guy using an illegal elbow pad that wasn’t banned by baseball, but now is.

It’s like a guy writing his name on his hat with marker. Back in the day is wasn’t banned. Now you can not deface the outside of the ball cap. Doing so is banned from baseball.

      I win.
