The Yankees will not renew the contract of third-base coach Bobby Meacham, the club announced on Tuesday. Meacham was one of two original selections that manager Joe Girardi made for his coaching staff upon being named the Yankees’ manager last November. Meacham replaced Larry Bowa, who followed former manager Joe Torre to the Dodgers.

A possibility of replacing Meacham at 3rd base coach, may be Willie Randolph. Randolph once held the position, and has received great response by the Yankees organization and Yankee fans, since being released by the Mets.

In addition, special pitching instructor Rich Monteleone was dismissed by the club. A former first-round pick of the Tigers who pitched 10 seasons in the big leagues with the Mariners, Angels, Yankees and Giants, Monteleone had been a Yankees instructor for the past four seasons after serving as a bullpen coach from 2002-04.

Bench coach Rob Thomson, first-base coach Tony Pena and pitching coach Dave Eiland are all expected to return.
