Thursday afternoon at the Stadium, the Yankees had a come from behind win against the Blue Jays, capped off with a Jason Giambi walk-off homerun. The Yankees were trailing 7-2 at one point, and also 8-6 with 2 outs in the 9th inning, before scoring 3 runs in the 9th to win the game 9-8.

Chien-Ming Wang only lasted 4.1 innings, as he gave up 7 runs, on 5 hits and 4 walks. With the game tied at 2-2, Melky Carbrera dropped a fly ball, allowing a run to score, and opening up the gates for a 5 run 5th inning. Jose Veras pitched a very good 2 innings, picking up LaTroy Hawkins mess, and stopping any further damage.
Kyle Farnsworth gave up his usual run (GEE SURPRISE) to drop the Yankees behind 8-6, but was bailed out by Jason Giambi.

Jorge Posada picked up a basehit in his first at bat since joining the team after his long DL stint. Johnny Damon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks to extend his hitting streak to 14 games.

With 2 outs in the 9th inning, Alex Rodriguez kept the inning alive with a single. Hideki Matsui followed with a single to score Rodriguez and bring the Yankees to within one. Jason Gimabi stepped into the batters box pinch hitting for Jose Molina, and with an 0-2 count, blasted a game winning, walk off homerun to the deep upperdeck in right field. The ball reached over half way up in the upper deck, and was a huge lift for the Yankees.

The Yankees will start a 4 game home stand against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, when they send Darrell Rasner to the mound in game 1.
