I believe it was MIJA who predicted a June 8th start date for the Rocket. (I was actually quoting Mike Francesa, but whatever...it made sense to me.) And it turns out that he was only off by a day. Clemens will start on Sat. and I'll be sure to report back to you all about how hard it was to get tickets...after I go ahead and get tickets. I'm lookin' at a Friday or Sunday game. Saturday would be nice, though. Anyway, I just wanted to report that Mija's, I mean Mike's prediction was pretty on point. But it's just like NYC to add a little bit of drama into the mix, while you wait.
And last but not least, OUR BOYS DID IT AGAIN. It's a little encouraging. I'm a little excited. A-Rod is a monster. God bless him for having good genes. Johnny's hot again. I like him at DH. He's producing more than Giambi ever did, except we're still waiting for John John to get to the long ball. He knows it. He's on it.
CAIRO got the nod from Torre during tonight's post-game (yes, of course I watch the post-game). And Cairo looked pleased when Kim Jones told him he'd be playing again in Thursday's game against the Sox. I think it's beginning to click. Cairo performed WELL last year. Very well. And so did Melki. And now, the situation seems to be lending itself to wins.
Odd, however, that they don't send Phelps down and bring up Phillips. I saw a lot of good in that kid last year. In fact, the 2006 ball club was beautiful, baby. I'd like to see them get back to that look. (Plus a few Astros and a ton of injuries.)
Good night and God bless.
-Mija
