Derek Jeter will not be in the lineup on Sunday against Kansas City, but the Yankees are hopeful that he’ll be back on Tuesday against Toronto. Yankees trainer Gene Monahan said that Jeter has patella tendon irritation and trace amounts of fluid in his knee, which is causing the stiffness that he experienced on Saturday night. We’ll keep a close eye on his status heading into next week, as the Yankees have a day off on Monday.
