Johnny Damon made no doubt about his feelings on the 2007 Yankees by stating today “We’re the best team”. Damon “likes what [he] sees with this team”, and feels that this is the right combination of players, and the team has a more relaxed attitude in the dugout.

After Johnny made these statements, the Yankee players showed their confidence as well, by backing him up. “You want people to feel as though you have the best team,” Derek Jeter noted of Damon’s comment. “A lot of it is a mindset, and an attitude. You want people to have that attitude, but you still have to go out and perform. We need to back it up, but it’s good to have that attitude. I feel really good about this team, too.”

The Yankees have the talent, and attitude for a championship run. The Yanks are all about their business, and have a “take care of business” attitude, but at the same time, they have some guys who like to have fun. When you add up Damon and Giambi’s “loose personalities” and combine them with Jeter and Rivera’s business personalities…it make for a good chemistry, and hopefully another “long awaited” YANKEE CHAMPIONSHIP”
