If Roger Clemens decides to pitch in 2007, he won’t announce his decision before May.
Clemens, in an exclusive interview with MLB.com, said that if he does pitch, it will only be for the Astros, Yankees or Red Sox. “From what I understand, all three teams want to see where they are as far as their rotation … and how their pitching lines up,” Clemens told the Web site. “Not a one of them wanted an April or May [deal] anyways. All three teams look good as far as their pitching staffs go. My agents will let me know if and when they call.”
Clemens also admitted that if Andy Pettitte hadn’t left the Yankees, Clemens would have come back to pitch for the Yanks..and now that Pettitte is back in pinstripes, “The Rocket” may want to pitch again next to Pettitte.
In my opinion.. I dont want Clemens back….and I really dont care where he goes!! I’m really tired of this guy acting like he is the “god of baseball”, and needs special treatment…like baseball can’t continue unless he pitches. I hope Clemens goes to Boston, because it will be even sweeter when we bomb him in a big game!! Either PLAY the game…or DONT play the game…. but I hope the Yankees do not cater to him and hold their breathe all season for this guy to come play. I think Clemens should stick to pitching in the NAtional League where he can get away with facing weak line ups!!
