Every blog, and comments on articles written on sports sites, as well as call-in sports talk radio shows, have the same old thing going on… People complaining about the Yankees spending spree.

Here are the hillarious contradictions and ironic comments that come up from jealous Yankee haters.

1) Red Sox, Mets, Cubs, and Dodgers fans complaining about the Yankees ruining baseball by “buying championships”.

^^ NEWS FLASH: These 3 teams spend just as much money right behind the Yankees, and are trying to “buy championships as well”. I find it hillarious that fans of these high payroll teams have the NERVE and stupidity to complain about payroll, when they go out and buy every free agent as well. Hypocrits!!

2) Low salary teams complaining about Yankees payroll.
^^^ You should spend your time complaining how YOUR teams owners are not putting money back into your team and taking your ticket money and pocketing it. Don’t hate on the Yanks owners for supplying their fans with the best possible product….just because your owners don’t care about their product. What are your owners doing with the luxury tax money that the Yanks are giving you???

3) Fans who make comments like: “Sabathia sucks”, “what a waste of money”, “Burnett will be hurt all season” .. YET…complain about how the signings are unfair.

^^^ Make up your mind. This is the funniest of all. How you can you complain how it is unfair that the Yankees can buy these players.. yet at the same time, say that they “suck”. If they suck so bad…then WHY DO YOU CARE if the Yankees bought them??? LOLOLOL

All of you whining fans are just jealous of the Yankees, and like something to complain about. You hear what one person in the media says, and you jump on the bandwagon (withoutu knowing the facts or having your own opinion).

Case in point: Everyone complained about Yankee payroll back in the championship years, and turned that into “Yankees buy championships”. YET..the reality is, they had the highest payroll..but did NOT buy championships. The majority of the team was homegrown players or players that were aquired by trading homegrown players. YES, they are required a high salary because of the talent level…but the players werent “bought”…they were EARNED.

All you haters keep being jealous…and looking foolish while doing it.

And next time you make comments one season, like “Look at the Rays, they prove money cant buy you a championship team, you need chimistry and heart”…. THEN don’t turn around next season and complain about the Yankees payroll then.

As the Pettitte watch continues, each week it seems to sway a different way. One week it seems “probable” that he will sign, and then the next week, it is “doubtful” that he will sign.

“Right now it’s doubtful on Pettitte, given where we are financially with this stuff,” a Yankees official told the Post. “But things change, especially here, if Hank and Hal [Steinbrenner] decide to do something.”

“Andy’s a free agent, and the one thing I’ve been consistent in saying is that we’d like to have Andy back,” Cashman said last week. “I know he’d like to come back. That’s set up for maybe a positive end result. It doesn’t guarantee it.”

“He’s still excited about coming back, and they continue to talk to him,” Girardi said. “Obviously it takes time. These things don’t happen overnight. He was very excited about the additions and he wants to be here.”

Each week seems to go back and forth, but with Andy Pettitte returning, other questions will arise, such as “Where is Phil Hughes spot in the rotation?”

    Stay Tuned!!

After all of the major Yankee Free Agent moves to strenthen their pitching staff, the Yankees picked up a major offensive piece in Mark Texiera. The Yankees and Teixeira reached a preliminary agreement Tuesday on an eight-year, $180 million contract that will make the Bronx his home.

There had been rumors of the Boston Red Sox being very close to signing Texiera, and the Yanks swooped in and grabbed him. The Yanks played this one very quietly and calculated, as they did not show any interest in Texiera during the past few months. After watching other teams go into a bidding war, the Yankees kept quiet, and the at the right time, they jumped in and grabbed him.

Teixeira’s agreement includes a $5 million signing bonus and a full-no trade provision. The deal also gives the Yankees control of the four biggest contracts in the game, joining pacts signed by Alex Rodriguez (10 years, $275 million), Derek Jeter (10 years, $189 million) and Sabathia (seven years, $161 million).

Not only are his stats inpressive, but he is also a HUGE Don Mattingly fan, which is why he wears #23. Of course, he will have to change his number now, but maybe he will make a new number a historical one in pinstripes.

The Yankees signed Chien-Ming Wang to a one-year contract for $5 million on Monday, thus avoiding arbitration. Wang, 28, was 8-2 with a 4.07 ERA in 15 starts for the Yankees last season before spending the rest of the year on the disabled list with a sprain of the Lisfranc ligament in his right foot and a partial tear of a tendon in the same foot. Wang hurt himself running the bases in an interleague game.

Chien-Ming Wang has been the Yankees ace for the past few season, and I am hoping the Yankees do the right thing at the end of this seaosn, and offer him a long term deal.

So now that the rotation is 4/5 official…we are just waiting on Andy Pettitte.

The Yankees are very close to signing free agenmt pitcher Andy Pettitte. A source on Friday said that it was “virtually inevitable” that the two sides would eventually finalize a one-year agreement.

“Andy’s a free agent, and the one thing I’ve been consistent in saying is that we’d like to have Andy back,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said this week. “I know he’d like to come back. That’s set up for maybe a positive end result. It doesn’t guarantee it.”

The Yankees have offered Pettitte a one-year, $10 million contract, a significant decrease in salary from the $16 million the veteran left-hander made in each of the last two seasons.

Pettitte’s representatives, Randy and Alan Hendricks, have discouraged Pettitte from accepting such a large pay cut after turning in a 14-win season for New York in 2008. Pettitte was 14-14 with a 4.54 ERA in 33 starts for the Yankees, but tailed off in the second half, finishing 2-7 with a 6.23 ERA in 11 starts after July 31.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that he has spoken recently with Pettitte, and has consistently relayed that he wants him to pitch at the new Yankee Stadium in 2009.

“He’s still excited about coming back, and they continue to talk to him,” Girardi said. “Obviously it takes time. These things don’t happen overnight. He was very excited about the additions and he wants to be here.”

I think the Yankees will make sure he is in pinstripes one way or another. Hopefully it will happen, and the Yankees will have the best pitching rotation in baseball.

Rumor has it that the Yankees are “going hard” to sign Manny Ramirez, to the point that they could offer him a three-year deal worth $22-25 million annually.

“Personally, I like Manny,” said Steinbrenner, the Yankees’ co-chairman. “He’s one of the greatest hitters in the history of the game. He’s a free spirit, for sure, but he knows how to win. We like some of the other guys, too. We just don’t know yet.”

Like I have said many times… If you are going to spend big money on another offensive player…they better get Mark Texiera. I do NOT want this idiot Manny here. New Yorkers aren’t going to put up with “Manny being Manny”.

Rumor has it that the Yankees next target will be Manny Ramirez. The Yankees better NOT even THINK about it. All we need is this loser patrolling left field at the new Yankee Stadium. We will have to put up with his non-hussling, not knowing how many outs there are in an inning, and giving up on plays.

Nothing is sacred anymore…. the Yankee organization took us out of the most historic building in the world, and are moving us to some new building. Now..we are talking about getting the most HATED player to all Yankee fans to join the team?? Whats next… New UNIFORMS???

C’mon Cashman (and front office)… I mean I have defended you for the past few years when all this negativity has gone around… BUT here is where I draw the line.

If Manny comes to the Yankees..I will boo him every at bat he comes to the plate…and no REAL Yankee fan wants him here. It’s bad enough you haven’t signed Pettitte yet…but now you are gonna throw many at this jerk??

The Yankees have made their second major Free Agent signing in the pitching department, by signing A.J. Brunett. Burnett, a 31-year-old right-hander, has agreed to a reported five-year, $82.5 million deal.

While making a career-high 34 starts for the Blue Jays this past season, Burnett went 18-10 with a 4.07 ERA. Fueling the interest that he gained this offseason was the fact that he went 9-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 113 strikeouts in his 15 starts after the All-Star break.

“A.J. Burnett has great stuff,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said recently. “I think he’s matured a lot as a pitcher, as well. He’s learned to control the running game a lot better. He attacks hitters and gets hitters out quickly, throws a lot of strikes, fields his position. I think he’s much more complete as a pitcher than he was a couple of years ago.”

The Yankees new rotation now looks like the following:

    CC Sabathia
    Chien Ming Wang
    AJ Burnett
    Joba Chamberlain
    Phil Hughes

the next question remains…. Does Andy Pettite sign? IF Pettite does sign, does Phil Hughes become a “back up option”, or does Joba Chamberlin return to the bullpen?

C.C. Sabathia and the NY Yankees have come to an agreement for Sabathia to pitch in pinstripes. The deal now represents a record-setting seven-year pact for about $160 million. Reports on Wednesday afternoon said the package is worth $161 million and will include a buyout clause that will give Sabathia the right to opt out after three years.

“We all know what kind of ballplayer he is,” Cashman said on Monday. “He’s a tremendous family man and he’s got a wife and three kids. He’s got a life choice to make that will direct where they’ll reside.”

That now leaves the next order of business, with free agent right-handers A.J. Burnett, Derek Lowe and Ben Sheets, and to the future of Andy Pettitte, who remains unsigned.

With 2 “Aces” now on the rotation with C.C. Sabathia and Chien Ming Wang, and Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes to round it out…the Yankees could use one more arm for the middle of the rotation. Hopefully, the Yanks sign Andy Pettitte.

The Yankees had made the huge $140 Million offer to CC Sebathia on NOv. 14, which is now almost a month old…and CC still hasn’t said a word.
This isn’t stopping the Yankees from moving forward and targeting other free agent pitchers. Brian Cashman and the Yanks front office are rumored to be meeting with AJ Burnett and his agent on Tuesday (tomorrow). The Yankees are said to be willing to go beyond the reported four-year, $60 million offer the Braves have put forth, according to reports on ESPN.com and SI.com.

“We’re dealing with other free agents at the same time,” Cashman said. “We hope to engage some clubs while we’re here. Obviously, today is Day 1 and we have needs we have to fill. I can tell you we’re not waiting, per se, for CC. We’re trying to affect change in our roster in a positive way with quality additions, but it’s just been a slow winter so far.”

Burnett, who will turn 32 in January, is considered, along with Derek Lowe — another target of the Yankees — among the top right-handed starters on the market. Burnett set career highs in wins and innings pitched in 2008, going 18-10 with a 4.41 ERA in 221 1/3 innings pitched for the Blue Jays.

The New York Post reported that the Yankees also met with free-agent right-hander Ben Sheets on Monday at the Bellagio, though Sheets is considered a secondary choice if the Yankees should strike out on any combination of Sabathia, Burnett or Lowe.

The Yankees still have yetot reach an agreement with Andy Pettitte.
