Does anyone realize that we might see something that could never happen again in history? Is tonight some witchcraft equinox , maybe a once in a lifetime comet is to pass our planet? Is there supposed to be a total lunar eclipse or maybe just all the planets have aligned.
What are the chances that we might just see the youngest player to hit his 500th home run, a big scumbag tie the all time home run record and just the 23rd pitcher to ever get his 300th victory?
If all these three are achieved tonight, we should consider ourselves very lucky. When is the next time in our lives that 3 milestones like this will even have the chance of happening on the same day again.?
Yankee Trade Notes:
It looks like Scott Proctor is heading to the Dodgers for Wilson Betemit, Kyle Farndworth maybe to the Tigers or anyone else dopey enough to take him and I’m hearing a lot of Eric Gagne talk.
The only thing I can see as a definite is Proctor to L.A. everything else we’ll have to wait until 4 p.m. to find out.

How many times is Joe Torre going to keep bringing in Kyle Farnsworth?
It has come to the point where MLB should start investigating Torre for having alterior motives for making these moves.
There is not ONE….. NOT ONE PERSON who watches the Yankees or Basbeall in general, who would bring Kyle Farnsworth into a game…yet Joe Torre continues to do it.
Something must be done about this…because the Yankees are going to lose more games and fall out of the race, and plus I am going to break a very expensive TV next time it happens.
Being that Torre is so blind to things around him, it’s time we do something about it. Everytime Joe Torre comes out to the mound to either bring in Farnsworth, or Take the ball from Farnsworth …the fans at the Stadium should BOO like Manny Ramirez was standing there.

Sunday Afternoon in Baltimore, the Yankees took the last game of the series, be defeating the Orioles 10-6. Chien-Ming Wang picked up his 12th win of the season, and the Yankees bats came back to life.
Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang worked six solid innings, holding the Orioles to three runs on nine hits and inducing eight groundouts. Wang (12-5) struck out 1 and walked 4. Unfortunately, we had to see Kyle Farnsworth enter the game, and take a WILD guess as to what he did?? THATS RIGHT…gave up a Home Run. When is Torre gonna just let his dream go…and STOP pitching his boyfriend.
Offensively, the Yankees batted around in the 8th inning, and scored 5 runs to break the game open. Johnny Damon went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and four runs scored on Sunday, including an RBI double in the eigth.

Saturday Night in Baltimore, the Yankees lost their second straight to the Orioles, 7-5. Down 7-1 in the 9th inning, the Yankees cut the lead to 7-5, and had the tieing runs on base, but Johnny Damon grounded into a double play, and then when runners reached again, Bobby Abreu struck out to end the game.
Roger Clemens allowed four runs on eight hits in his fifth loss of the season. The Rocket went 6 1/3 innings, and struck out six, leaving the game in the 7th inning with a 3-1 deficit. Relievers Mike Myers, Luis Vizcaino and Brian Bruney combined to allow three runs on four hits and let the game slip out of reach.
Offensively it was a quiet night for the Yankees, until the ninth inning. Hideki Matsui hit a home run in the 7th inning to put the Yankees on the board, and then Jorge Posada hit a 2-run homer in the 9th to get a rally started. JOhhny Damon killed the rally by grounding into a double play, which was his second of the game, and only his second of the entire season. The Yankees managed to get 2 more guys aboard, and Bobby Abreu stepped up with a chance to at least tie the game, and he struck out with A-Rod on deck.
The Yankees will look to win the final game in Baltimore on Sunday, when Chien-Ming Wang faces Daniel Cabrera.

Thats right…. he may have already did it. Alex Rodriguez may have hit his 500th homerun against Gil Meche the other night in Kansas City.
The umpires are given special baseballs with holograms, so when Arod hits 500, they can identify it….. however..it will really be homerun 493, if Arod homers in his at bat in Game 1 vs Baltimore Friday. Due to the game being suspended, the stats for that game have not become “official” yet. So basically, when the final inning of that game is played on Friday July 26 (today), if he homers, he officially will have 500 home runs, which means his 500th homerun was off of Gil Meche Wednesday night in Kansas City. I wonder who has the ball??
The fun part is going to see the reaction of Yankee broadcasters and MLB when they realize that after the game, AROD has 500 homeruns. lol

ROYALS 7
Thursday night in Kansas City, the Yankees win streak came to an end with a 7-0 loss to the Royals. Kei Igawa picked up the loss, and the Yankees bats were no where to be found.
Igawa allowed 5 runs on 7 hits. He walked two and struck out five, hitting a batter and throwing a wild pitch. Igawa was hurt most by a four-run second inning, which featured RBI triples by Mark Grudzielanek and Tony Pena plus a two-run double by center fielder David DeJesus. The Royals sent eight men to the plate in the inning against Igawa. Hopefully, Phil Hughes will be up here sooon…and we can say Syanara …or however you spell it!! lol
Offensively, the Yankees bats were finally quieted. Playing his first game for the Yankees, Jose Molina had hits in his first two at-bats but grounded into an inning-ending double play in the sixth, wasting a two-on, one-out opportunity. The Yankees only had 6 hits.
The Yankees did however win 3 out of 4 games in the series, which is what they needed to do. Next up…the Baltimore Orioles. the Yankees will start on Friday at 7:00pm by playing the final inning of the game which they lead 8-6 that was suspended earlier this year, and then play game 2.
GAME NOTES:
IGAWA: 5.2 IP, 7H, 5ER, 5 SO
MOLINA: 2-4
CABRERA: 2-4

Last night Joba Chamberlain, the Yanks new triple A prospect, made his debut for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last night. In 5 scoreless innings, he posted 10 k’s while allowing 4 hits and walking 1. He threw 57 of 88 pitches for strikes.
It’s nice to hear the Yanks finally talking about bringing him up possibly around the first or second week in august to maybe be the 8th inning guy since Farnsworth is terrible and the Yanks aren’t too convinced on Visciano yet.
From Newark Star Ledger…
While the Yankees will not publicly commit to bringing back Phillip Hughes yet.
“We’ll see where we are at that point in time and what our needs are” Toree said.
I’m sick of the Yankees babying their young arms. Mussina is on the verge of losing his spot in the rotation I believe. The Yanks should bring back Hughes as soon as possible I think. I’m not convinced Mussina get get the job done anymore…maybe against the lowly Royals but certainly not any decent teams. And if this Chamberlain is this hot young stud, give him the 5th spot in the rotation!
And the last thing, I’m reading today that the Yanks have been shopping Johnny Damon, the Braves are interested, but not at that price. It seems the Yanks would have to eat alot of money to deal him. The Mets are another possibility with Beltran going down and Moises Alou’s body being about 65 years old.

The bullpen combination of Villone, Proctor, Myers, Vizcaino, and Rivera held the Royals to no runs for the rest of the game. Tuesday Night in Kansas City, the Yankees offense poured it on again, leading them to their 5th straight victory. The Yankees defeated the Royals 9-4, and cut the Wild Card deficit down to 4 games.
Chien-Ming Wang (11-5) held Kansas City to four runs on seven hits over six innings, walking two and striking out three. Wang pitched well, considering, it is sometimes tough to pitch with a 7-0 lead after 2 innings.
The Yankee offense came to play, yet again, this time scoring 7 runs in the first two innings. Jorge Posada and Bobby Abreu each drove in two runs, while Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui scored twice apiece for New York.
